Nursery / Re: Tigerstar and Flashkit

Tigerstar watched his apprentice practice. With silent contempt he tried to pick out the mistakes... but there were none. He was quite pleased with his choice in Flashpaw. If he was trained properly, he would grow into a fiercer warrior than all the cats of the Dark Forest! No mistakes. No remorse. No survivors.
Tigerstar had been vanquished hundreds of years ago. He had lost his grudge with Firestar but he had new ambitions. Darker ones. Ones where only one cat would come out on top.
Tigerstar decided to really test this apprentice's skills. Melting back into the shadows, he drew himself out of Flashpaw's sight.

"Actually," Omenpaw responded. "it's the norm. I'd be surprised if you didn't feel like that. And I don't think your mentor would approve of you getting off so early. The apprentices still have chores to do like tending to the elders." Omenpaw twitched his whiskers. "If there's one thing the clan knows about Snowbloom, it's that despite her sweet and kind affection for her clanmates, she is a hard worker and a ferocious warrior. You could learn alot from that cat!" Omenpaw mewed encouragingly.

No need to get huffy, Bluepaw. I already told you that they can see your shadow. That's why they get scared. if they couldn't see your shadow- as you imply- they would not fright.

"Do all apprentices feel like this? Snowbloom has me on my toes with water seeping into my fur. Fishing is harder that it looks! I think I will grab an early dinner and go to bed."

Snowbloom shook her head disapprovingly. "Actually, your shadow scares the fish because it knows something is above it.  You also need to be light on your feet. any vibrations through the water- or even the ground- alerts the fish of your presence."
My first apprentice... I wonder if I'm doing okay? Snowbloom thought.

Well like rabbits you have to be fast. Fish can't smell us so we don't have to be downwind. Down stream. Oh! I know they can't see you! Or your shadow.

"Very good." Snowbloom purred. "But it's not just about living. The warrior code says to respect your prey for the life it has given to support you. Now, what can you tell me about hunting fish and how they are different from hunting mice or rabbits or birds?"

Hunting! If you fight you need to eat to get strong. Or even just to live.

OOC: yes.
Snowbloom trotted into the clearing, determined to give a good lesson on how to catch fish. Settling down by the stream she addressed her apprentice. "Bluepaw? Can you tell me the one of the most important things about survival in a clan?" She inquired.
